Gloria Victis is a player-driven economy, and professions are how that economy runs. The 7 trades below split into gatherers — who pull raw resources from contested land — and makers, who forge those resources into the weapons, armour, siege engines and supplies their nation fights with. Pick a trade, learn its recipes, and you become part of the war effort even off the battlefield.

Mining & Metallurgy

Smelts ores (limonite, pyrite) into lumps of iron, then refines them into grivna, ingots and bars of soft/semi-hard/hard steel and bulat used as the base stock for weapon and armour crafting.

Gathering professions (Mining, Forestry, Herbalism) pull raw resources from the world. Making professions (Armoursmithing, Tailoring & Leatherworking, Engineering, Cooking) turn those resources into finished gear, siege equipment and consumables.
Which profession should I choose first?
There is no single best pick. A gathering profession funds itself and feeds the economy; a making profession lets you equip yourself directly. Many players run one of each. Check the product counts in the table to see what each trade outputs.
How do I level a profession?
Crafting and gathering earn profession XP, which raises your skill level and unlocks higher-tier recipes. Buy new recipe scrolls from trainers as you climb — see Recipes.
Who makes armor and weapons?
Armour comes from Armoursmithing (metal) and Tailoring & Leatherworking (cloth and leather). Weapons and tools trace through the maker professions and Engineering for siege gear.
